Equine Retraining
February Star Sanctuary has developed a comprehensive training program, which we use to improve manners and prepare horses for second careers, in various disciplines, based on their physical and mental abilities. Each horse that’s ready for retraining receives an assessment and is given a custom training program based on temperament, physical ability and long-term potential. Horses that have completed our training program are now thriving in their new homes and careers.
Second careers may include:
-
Western disciplines
-
Hunter/Jumper
-
Eventing
-
Trail riding
-
Lesson programs
-
Therapy roles
-
Companion homes
Our goal is not just adoption – it is the right adoption.

Equine Sanctuary
February Star Sanctuary prioritizes finding rescued horses a loving forever home. While we are most often successful in that endeavor, we are also a permanent refuge and safe haven for horses that cannot be adopted for a variety of reasons, including health.
